De Beer Refinish is part of Valspar bv, formerly known as De Beer Lakfabrieken B.V. The company was founded in 1910 and has been producing auto enamels for body repair since 1951. In 1980, a plant was opened in the city of Lelystad and now De Beer Refinish supplies its products to more than 100 countries. In 1982, the production of paint mixing systems began, followed by production of water-based products was launched in mid-2000.

Since January 2000, a directive regulating the content of volatile organic compounds (VOC) came into force in the EU. To meet modern requirements and standards, De Beer Refinish was one of the first to develop a set of so-called flexible materials - a system for the preparation and selection of enamels 900 series water-based and HS420 3000 series. The company currently produces a full range of products that comply with the VOC standard.

The next generation of pigments is  "xirallic" are particles of aluminum oxide, also coated with metal oxides. Since the raw materials are obtained artificially, it was possible achieve greater transparency and more regular particle shape. Hence the higher shine, color saturation and interference than that of “mother of pearl”. That is, in bright the sun creates the feeling that colored diamonds have been added to the paint.
 Today, BeroBase Vizard Colors has appeared - a system of basic enamels with effect  "chameleon" are silicon oxide particles coated with metal oxides. Particles obtained synthetically - hence the ultra-transparency and, as a result, very high interference. That's why colors like 5-901 "break" from green to purple.
